2–Plate & Pillar Tiered Cake Construction
Use separator plates and pillars. The most dramatic method of tiered cake assembly—two, three or more single cakes towered together.
Steps:
Step 1: Position Flower Ring & Fountain
Set tiers on separator plates which are 2 in. larger in diameter than cakes.
Step 2: Assemble Pillars & Plate
Dowel rod cakes and position separator plates on tiers with feet up.
Note: separator plates connected by pillars must always be the same size in diameter.
Step 3: Stack Tiers
Position pillars over feet on separator plates.
Step 4: Position Separator Plate
Carefully set cake plate on pillars. Continue adding tiers this way.
