Silly Poppers!
Have a ball with silly-faced popcorn balls which stand up in footed baking cups! Fun candy decorations make it easy to give these friendly freaks their entertaining personalities!
Makes 6 popcorn balls. Each serves 1.
Step 1: Prepare popcorn balls
In large microwave-safe bowl, microwave marshmallow cream 1 minute at 50% Power. Remove bowl from microwave. Gently stir in popcorn, mixing until evenly coated. Lightly spray hands with vegetable pan spray. Shape into balls and press firmly into baking cups.
Step 2: Decorate
Create "creature" facial features by attaching candy using royal icing or melted Candy Melts.
One-eyed ogre: Attach mini candy-coated chocolate to white hollow-center candy; attach to popcorn ball. Cut and attach black licorice mouth; attach orange or green mint tooth. For hair, roll out 3 orange spice drops on surface sprinkled with sugar; cut into fringe with scissors, leaving ½ in. at bottom. Attach to popcorn ball, adjusting fringe for a fuller look.
Flapping tongue creature: For eyes, cut 2 white spice drops in half; attach mini multi-colored candies. Attach to popcorn balls. Place banana-shaped candy horns, candy-coated chocolate nose and black licorice mouth on popcorn ball. Add green mini multi-colored candy spots. Roll out taffy and cut into a tongue shape; attach.
Purple hair friend: For eyes, cut 2 yellow spice drops in half; attach mini multi-colored candies. Attach to popcorn balls. Attach candy-coated chocolate nose, black licorice mouth and orange or green mint teeth. For hair, roll out 3 purple spice drops on surface sprinkled with sugar; cut into fringe with scissors, leaving ½ in. at bottom. Attach to popcorn ball, adjusting fringe for a fuller look.
