Floral Flourish Cake

A cascade of colorful flowers adds a delicate touch to this pretty shell and reverse shell border cake. The soft shade of pale green provides a lovely botanical background.

Cake serves 20.

Step 1

Step 1: Color Flowers

Break up chalk by rubbing through tea strainer. Brush chalk onto flowers, as desired. Set aside.

Step 2

Step 2: Prepare Cake

Bake your favorite 2-layer cake recipe or mix in square pan. Cool cake in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely. Place on foil-wrapped cake board. Spatula ice cake smooth with green icing.

Step 3

Step 3: Decorate

Position cake on turntable. Using tip 17, decorate top border with reverse shells and bottom border with shells. Position flowers into flower spikes; insert into cake.
