Add lemon yellow icing color to a bowl of water. Dip bow in tinted water until desired color is reached. Let dry on paper towel.
Bake your favorite 2-layer cake recipe or mix following recipe instructions in the 8, 12 and 16 in. pans. Cool layers in pans on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely.
Wrap 18 in. base board with foil. Place largest cake on base board and remaining cakes on cake circles. Prepare cakes for Alternate 2-Plate Construction. Lightly ice each cake in buttercream icing to prepare for covering in fondant.
Stack cakes with Spiral Separator Plates. Add bow to top layer.
