Candy Lover's Cottage

This house requires no special cake decorating skills; simply spatula ice and add candy accents! Even the youngest family members can help decorate this candy-adorned bungalow.

Serves 12.

Step 1

Step 1: Bake the Cake

Spray Stand-up House Pan with vegetable pan spray; fill 2/3 full with cake batter. Bake and cool cake. Place cooled cake on foil-wrapped cake board cut to fit.

Step 2

Step 2: Ice the Cake

Spatula ice the house in white buttercream; spatula ice roof in light rose buttercream. Press candy sticks cut to size onto house corners.

Step 3

Step 3: Decorate

For windows, roll out yellow spice drops on granulated sugar sprinkled surface. Cut into rectangles and attach to house. Outline with tip 3 and white buttercream icing; add gum shutters. Add sugar wafer cookie doors; attach pastel oval candies around door and as door handles. Add pastel wafer candies to roof in shingle pattern. Spatula ice cake board around house fluffy. Add jelly spearmint leaves “bushes” around house.
