I want to bake train cookies for my son's 5th birthday. What would be the simplest method to decorate for someone with no experience at this?

The simplest way to decorate the cookies is to use tube icing – it comes already colored. While you can buy tips for tube icing to make stars, outline, write or make other decorations, you can also just squirt it onto the cookie and spread the icing out to cover (that would be the simplest!) Then, if you want to add some detail to the cookies, use candy. Mini or regular candy-coated chocolate pieces, chocolate chips, gum drops and licorice make decorating easy.
