Can butter flavored shortening be used instead of regular shortening for buttercream icing?

Yes, you can use the butter flavored shortening instead of regular shortening when making buttercream icing. However, the butter flavored shortening has a slight yellow color, which would mean your buttercream icing would not be pure white.
