Why is it when I mix sugar, egg and milk to make a cake, it looks like cottage cheese. Please help me, I would like to learn how to make cakes, cookies, and other things.

There are several reasons for why your mixture may result in a cottage cheese like appearance. Although, I’m not sure what recipe you are using, it could be because mixing time is not long enough, or that the ingredients were cold. For example, if you have softened butter to beat it with sugar following package instructions, then you add cold eggs or cold milk, I would recommend using one of Wilton’s cake recipes. Start with the Basic Yellow Cake Mix recipe. It’s a good cake to begin your long baking career.
