Since the fondant leaves are still soft, you attach them by brushing the back with a small amount of water. Press the leaf up against the fondant covered cake, and it should stick nicely.
For this cake, start at the bottom of the freshly covered fondant cake and attach the leaves, positioning so that leaves hang over the edge of the cake plate. Add the second row of leaves, overlapping the row below it. Continue until sides are covered and the top row slightly overlaps the top edge of cake.
