Pudding added to cake mixes makes a moister, slightly heavier cake than a cake made with a mix with no pudding. The two types of mixes usually call different amounts of eggs, oil and water. The recipes and cake projects we demonstrate on the show were developed using mixes without pudding, and since we usually add other ingredients to the mixes, using a mix without pudding will assure success. We can’t guarantee the same results if you use a mix with pudding.
