Hi Nancy! I was wondering what consistencies of icing I should use? I want to make my daughter's birthday cake, and I want to put buttercream flowers on it.

Pam - from Homewood, IL

When icing the cake, you will want to use thin consistency icing so that you don't pull the crumb off the cake as you spread the icing on. Depending on the flowers you are making, some require medium consistency, others stiff. Follow the instructions for making the flower on our website.
